Una paradita rapida para recordaros que las votaciones estan abiertas en el Blogger's Quilt festival, y este año voy a ser un poco traviesa y pedir vuestros votos! :0. Flower Power. Blogger's Quilt Festival Spring 2014

Hi all, 

And welcome to all of you coming from Amy's blog. Isn't this your favourite event of the "Quilting" year?, together with the trips to the fabric shop and market of course!. 

I didn't participate last year so I was eager to finish my quilt this week and start taking some nice pictures, I have had a few tantrums because of  the weather not been very helpful, but at least I made it!.

Hoy me vais a perdonar por cambiar el ritmo del blog y escribir primero en ingles. No me puedo resistir al Blogger's Quilt Festival, el año pasado no llegue a ninguna de las dos convocatorias y este año no me lo podia perder. Espero que os guste el quilt que presento y no olvideis de pasaros a ver los maravillosos quilts que se presentan y claro no os olvideis de votar! :) Yo uno de mis votos ya lo tengo reservado, si, si, es para ti, ya sabes tu quien eres!

Un besote guapetonas!

And here we are, me and my new quilt, I started the first blocks more that a year ago!, at some stage they were buried in a drawer somewhere but not in my brain!. I decided at some point that this quilt would be nice for the Spring Festival and I took a few blocks from the mentioned drawer, and sew a few more.

It has been a joy to sew this quilt, all the blocks are appliqued and I hand stitched a blanket stitch all over the contour. I have enjoyed playing with colour so much (both fabric and thread). It really has been like gardening, taking care of every little flower in my flower patch!. 

Sorry for the creases, this quilt has been in and out of a bag for the entire week waiting for a sunny day! :(  I was afraid of my life to iron it and loose the sunny spell!!

I have used the same fabric in the border and back, I think that this fabric complement the quilt very nicely. I should have bought the entire bolt!. 

I present this quilt to the Applique Category. I hope you like it. The design of this quilt is called "Beautes Florissantes" from the Magic Patch Sampler magazine. It measures 48" X 48". For those in Ireland, the pictures are taken in our brand new playground is St Catherine's Park, county Kildare, we are so happy about this!.

Pin cushions y Jumbo pin cushion. Cathedral windrows.

Buenas! 

Como de costumbre llego tarde al enlace de "Nos vemos los viernes" de Patchwork en casa, pero aqui estoy dando guerra!. 

Ya os comentaba la semana pasada que lo pase bomba en mi quedada costuril, 7 horas ni mas ni menos!. No paramos hasta que terminamos los bolsos, bueno casi porque yo fue un poco ambiciosa e iba cosiendo dos a la vez, al final uno se quedo a medias, espero poder enseñaroslo el viernes que viene!, o el sabado, o el domingo, ha, ha. 

Hi guys!, are you having a nice weekend so far?. Today, I would like to show you a couple of pin cushions I sewed last week for a my partners in crime, we had a great sewing session with lots of chit chat, nice food, tea, ..... I couldn't help to sew a Jumbo pin cushion for myself, it is really big but it really does the job!. i hope you like it!. :) 

Pero hoy lo que os quiero mostrar son los acericos que cosi para mis dos complices costuriles.

Y como no he tenido que volver a la tecnica del Cathedral Windows (esto ya es de por vida!). Sonia me metio esta idea en la cabeza hace tiempo y al ver el suyo hace unas cuantas semanas, no me quedo mas remedio que hacerlos o me moria de la envidia! Esta vez nada me maquinita, cosi todo a mano porque las ventanas son bastante chiquititas y queda mas resulton. 

Y ya que estaba puesta pues me hice otro para mi, eso si, jumbo!. No pude hacer una foto con todos en amor y compañia porque el mio se retraso un pelin, pero es bastante mas grande. No se vosotras pero yo vuelo con la maquina y los alfileres terminan por todas partes porque o tengo el acerico lleno o pincho en la mesa :), un desastre, a ver si este tan grandote me soluciona el problema.

Por hoy os dejo que tengo mucha faena (colgando estos canvas en las respectivas habitaciones).
