Blogger's quilt festival: fall 2011

     Soy la ultima en escribir sobre el festival? Como puede ser eso? Vamos a solucionar este asunto, esta es mi entrada y mi quilt:

     Am I the last one writing about the Blogger's quilt Festival? Let's do something about it, this is my post and my chosen quilt:

     Este quilt esta hecho con amor para mi marido, tarde muchos meses en hacerlo, no se me hizo largo el proceso, al contrario, disfrute bastante eligiendo las telas, cortando, ... Al llevar muchas telas diferentes, pase mucho tiempo viendo telas en internet, y comprando, la vida esta llena de sacrificios, pero que no hariamos por amor!;).

     El patron es de la revista Magic Patch, si podeis conseguirla os la recomiendo, tiene unos quilts muy bonitos, tanto clasicos como modernos.

     Si teneis un ratito pasaros por el blog de Amy hay unos quilts preciosos, y yo personalmente estoy descubriendo blogs nuevos que no conocia.

     This quilt is made with love for my dear husband, it took me a few months to sew it, but I really enjoyed it. I spent a few hours shopping for fabrics online, sacrifices needed to be made, what wouldn't you do for love?.

     The pattern is for the magazine Magic Patch, I couln't recommended it enough, it shows fantastic quilts.

Hoy tengo un buen dia, de momento no llueve, hemos podido salir a dar un paseito, y anoche termine de coser el bies

I am having a good day today, it isn't raining, we have gone out for a little walk and last night I was busy binding

de este quilt. Hoy no puedo pedir mas, bueno una horita esta noche para coser no me vendria mal. Deseadme suerte!.

this quilt. I can't ask for more today, well I wouldn't mind an hour of sewing this afternoon! Wish me luck!.

Me ha encantado hacer este quilt, y me va a dar mucha penita verlo desaparer primero de mi cesta de costura, y despues de mi casita. Va a ser un regalo, pero creo que va a una buen hogar donde lo van a cuidar bien.

I have really enjoyed working on this quilt. It is going to be a present, but I know it is going to a good home where it is going to be well look after. That makes the lost a bit easier!

He intentando hacer fotos de mis bloques de Octubre durante tres dias, como no ha parado de llover, he tenido que hacerlas hoy dentro de casa!. He dicho llover o diluviar?. En fin, las fotos no son muy buenas, pero si sigo esperando a que pare de llover, no las podreis ver hasta el verano que viene, y eso si tenemos suerte!, ja,ja.

Planes para el frio invierno. Plans for a cold winter.

   Creo que no os habia contado que vivo en Irlanda, aunque seguramente lo habeis notado porque  no aparece mucho el sol en mis fotos!. Formo parte de un grupo en Flickr llamado Sew Irish y Sarah de Fairyface designs ha organizado un grupito donde haremos una lista de nuestros proyectos para el invierno. El plan es volver a revisar la lista a comienzos de primavera y ver que tal nos ha ido.

   No tengo muchas esperanzas de finalizar toda mi lista, porque vuelvo a trabajar prontito y no voy a tener mucho tiempo para la aguja, y mucho menos para mi querida maquina!. Pero bueno, vamos a intentarlo, aqui teneis mis planes:

   It is not that I am looking forward to those cold winter days, and all the winter clothes, and please tell me it will not snow this winter! But I am really looking forward to finish a few projects and because the weather will not be so nice, hopefully that will mean more time for stitching!. Yippei.


   Anyway, Sarah from Fairyface designs is organising a sewing list for us to keep track of our sewing plans. I think this will be fun!. So if my two little people, my hubby and my job let me some time off, i will sew the following:


1. I will finish my son's quilt, and this is a priority, I am hoping to finish it in the next couple of weeks. This quilt has been hanging around for a long time now.

Terminar el quilt de mi hijo, esto lo tengo como prioridad, espero terminarlo en las proximas semanas. Este quilt ya ha dado muchas vueltas!.



2. I have  two quilts that need to be finished from my 60 degree diamond epp QAL. I am so happy with this group that I might even start a third one!. Not that I need it, but it is a great project to sew in front of an open fire, perfect for winter.

Tengo dos quilts que terminar del grupo 60 degree diamond. Seguramente empiece un tercero, me encanta hacer este quilt, es genial mientras ves una pelicula, charlando, ...

3. I am working on a table runner for my mom, I am using the log cabin tecnique and it will be my first table runner.

Estoy trabajando en un camino de mesa para mi madre, estoy utilizando la tecnica log cabin, ya veremos como queda.

4. I am going back to work in a few weeks and my dear daughter will go to the creche, I couldn't possible sent her without a cute little bag sew by her mom, could I. So this is priority number 2 on my list.

Como vuelvo a trabajar prontito, mi chiquitina tendra que ir a la guarderia, y no la voy a dejar ir sin una bolsita mona para llevar sus cositas, por supuesto. Esta es mi prioridad numero dos.

5. Oh dear, my Farmer's wife quilt top!, what can I say, it needs to be finished!. If I manage to put the top together I will be delighted.

Y que decir de mi Farmer's wife quilt, tengo que terminarlo!. Si consigo terminarlo estare encantada.

6. I always like to have a couple of baby quilts ready for a last minute present, I have nothing at the moment, so i need to work on this as well. I have seen a pattern that I fancy with a tiny bit of applique, so I will be uing my rotary cutter very soon. This will also be my first encounter with applique.

Me gusta tener un par de quilts para bebes preparados por si tengo que hacer algun regalito, en estos momentos no tengo ninguno, pero he visto un patron que me gusta bastante y tiene un poquito de aplique, con lo que me voy a animar a cortar telitas muy pronto. Esta sera la primera vez que hago aplique.

7. I would love to finish quilting and binding my pretty quilt before the end of winter. I will start quilting as soon as I buy the wadding.

Me encantaria terminar de acolchar y coser el bies a mi bonito quilt antes del final del invierno. En el momento que compre la guata me pondre manos a la obra.

8. As my blog is still a baby, I still have to work a lot on it, I have a few things that I would like to change. I guess I will spent a lot of hours in front of my computer this winter!.

Como este blog es un bebe, tengo que ocuparme de el un poquito, me gustaria cambiar algunas cositas. Me imagino que voy a pasar muchas horas frente a mi ordenador este invierno!.
Will I finish all these projects this winter or the next one?
Terminare todo esto antes de que termine este invierno o el siguiente?

Bloques de septiembre. September blocks.

Hola, 


Lo se, ya hemos pasado la mitad de octubre, y yo vuelvo a Septiembre!. En mi defensa dire que volvi de vacaciones a final de Septiembre y he estado sin ordenador hasta ayer (casi me vuelvo loca!). En fin, que ahora estoy intentando leer todo lo acumulado y poniendo orden a todas las fotos para poder mostraros lo que he estado haciendo estas semanas. Venga no me enrollo mas, aqui estan los bloques de septiembre, espero que os gusten.


I know, I said I was a bit delay all the way!. First I was on holidays, then my computer decided to have a break itself, so two more weeks without computer, I nearly went insane!. I am trying to read all the blogs from my long list, and organising all the pictures I have been taking. Anyway, enough of that, here you have all the blocks I managed to sew in september. I hope you like them.

Mi propio quilt. My own quilt.

Podeis creeros que en el tiempo que llevo aprendiendo a coser quilts, no habia hecho nada para MI. Pues he decidido ser un poco egoista y aqui teneis, este es un avance de lo que va a ser mi quilt;

Can you believe that I haven't got my very own quilt! Better said, I hadn't my own quilt, this is my top finished, I am delighted. I cant wait to quilt it and for those rainy days to come, lying down in the sofa with a cuppa and my cozy quilt.

Me gustaria tenerlo terminado para este invierno, me queda acolcharlo, con lo que no me voy a hacer muchas esperanzas de tenerlo terminado a tiempo.

He estado pensando en utilizar una guata de lana, no la he utilizado nunca, no se si experimentar con mi propio quilt es una buena idea. Aun no he comprado la guata con lo que tengo unas semanitas para reflexionar.

Aun asi, ya tengo seleccionada la tela trasera y el bies montado:

This is going to be my backing fabric and bias binding. I am also thinking in using this templete to quilt the borders. I am seriously considering using wool batting, I will buy my batting at the Knitting and stiching show in Dublin, so I have a few weeks to think about it. Any suggestions are welcome.

Ya me puedo visualizar tumbadita en mi sillon, con una tacita de te calentito, enroscadita en mi propio quilt. Que llueva, que llueva, ....
